Seven Secrets of the Goddess

  • The women hold a higher position in dating in many old Indian texts
    • Males who pushed themselves on females were killed
  • The music of the video is very repetitive
  • The imagery of the video is very interesting, there is many pictures and scenes from the Mahabharata and various statues
  • The idea of one man for a town of women was entertained a lot
  • Castration of bulls was common practice and this idea was extended somewhat to men in the past
  • There were tales where men were to be killed unless they castrated themselves
  • The virgin mother was a symbol in Indian stories, back then a virgin was not a women who had not had sex, but rather a women who was ready to have a child
  • Women had a lot of power in there sexuality
  • Yami rejects sex with her brother and becomes the goddess of death
  • Gods of desire were associated with death and decay
  • Reject women granted freedom from death
  • Semen in the spine was thought to bring power to control nature

The coolest thing about chemical engineering is the how connected it is to everyday life. Many of the things I have learned in class can be applied to explain the world around us and why things interact in a certain ways. The best class I took last year was momentum, heat, and mass transfer. The professor was great and the material was very pertinent to the world around us. It was also a very satisfying class to take because it wrapped up all the things I had previously learned: chemistry, physics, and math into one interconnected topic. It was eye opening to see all the blocks fit into place and see how important math really is for modeling systems.       I am currently in the process of reading Dune , by Frank Herbert, but my favorite book/series to date is Dan Brown's Angel's and Demons . Week 5 Story: Sita the Demon Queen

Creation of Maya Sita, Adhyatma Ramayana folio, Wikicommons Sita has been away from Rama for almost six months since she was kidnapped by the Demon King Ravana. For this entire duration Sita had not heard a word from Rama. Sita believed with all her heart that Rama would eventually come and save her from the abomination that was Ravana.  Day in and day out Sita would spend most of the day praying that Rama would come and save her. She would pray to Shiva, Vishnu, and even minor gods. Sita was desperate to have her prayers answered. Sita began to day dream that even if Rama did not come to save her that atleast someone strong and capable would come to conquer Lanka so she could get off this dreaded island.  Weeks started to pass freely and there was still no sign of her hero Rama or anyone for that matter. Doubt started to grow from within Sita.  "Could Rama just toss me aside for someone more fair?" she thought.  These dark thoughts started to flood her mind...
